Ok so my system was fine last night. Then I put in some new dual Channel Ram and it will not get to post. It beeps and nothing displays on the monitor. The beeps indicate a Display card or Monitor error. So thinking it was the new ram I pulled it out and put in the original ram. Same issue. So I checked the video card to make sure it was inserted completely still and the power cable was connected. Everything was fine. So I completely removed the vid card and re-inserted it. Still same. What could have happened between working last night and adding some simply ram today?

I had a similar issue with ram. I switched the ram about into different slots until it would boot.

Have you tried reseting the cmos?

Ok so I cleared my CMOS and the PC will boot perfectly. But if I try to do anything or restart the computer the system will not boot and it just beeps that there is a vid card/monitor error. I clear the cmos again it works fine. Any other ideas? Could this possibly be the result of upgrading DirectX? I did upgrade it to 9.0c before this started happening.

Update your monitor and video card drivers. Update your motherboard bios.
Go into your bios and load setup defaults. Check device manager for yellow marks. Try 1 stick of ram.

If anyone is interested. It turned out to be the timing for the memory. I set it to 2-3-3-8 in the BIOS and it worked fine.
