    System = Dell XPS/Dimension 200/5150C
    OS = Windows XP Professional

    Symptoms: Upon boot to Windows XP, system gives "Blue Screen" as follows:

    A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

    Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates your might need.

    If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options shadowing. If you need use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

    Technical information:

    Can boot to command line in Windows Recovery Console

    A week ago or so the system would boot, but would not attach to the internet. Suspected malware. Attempted follow the steps in the " READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide" by downloading on a different machine and FTPing files over to the "bad" machine. Could not get all necessary tools/files across. Received "Access Denied" on a couple of the files.

    Was able to:
    Uninstall Malware via Add/Remove Programs (nothing to uninstall)
    Use MSconfig to setup for Normal Startup Mode - successful
    Spybot S&D Installing & Running - ran, but got blue screen
    SUPERAntiSpyware - running & getting a log - could not get to run
    Using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - ran ComboFix, got blue screen

    Could not transfer MG Tools, got FTP Access Denied.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Look forward to someone's help. Thanks

    Also, a week or so ago, was able to run Avast or SpyBot and detected MONDER-V, Trojan-gen, and Adware-gen

    Tried to run a chkdsk in recovery mode. System froze.

    The problems you mentioned in message # 1 are not malware issues. As such, I'm moving this thread to the Software Forum.
