If you have a decent HDTV antenna....you can scan for available channels. Or, use the website to find what's available in your neighborhood.

 

Why can't you use an antenna inside? We have one for each set and pick up most all the available channels. There are small antennas that plug directly into the back of a HDTV. Low profile.

Where we live, when I checked the site for over the air channels, we'd pick up exactly three. I'm not even sure how well they'd come in.

I never say a word about the large cable tv bill and my husband never says a word about the large cable internet bill. We each prefer different things. He watches news on tv almost constantly and I'm on the computer almost constantly.

 

Sounds like a throw back to an old VCR.

 

Yup, it is a digital video recorder that records any digital over the air channels received through an antenna.
