Taking Ownership in XP Home (No access to Safe Mode)

Somebody I know had to reinstall XP Home on her computer, it made a backup of her files but she can't access it. Googled and it said to take ownership, and for XP Home needs safe mode. However, this person doesn't have access to safe mode as there's only F10 which doesn't do anything.

Any way to take ownership otherwise?

Try going into control panel then into user accounts. Set up as administrator account and then see what happens.

 

There's no F8 button on her keyboard?

 

Well, actually the person did get into safe mode. But it was so late last night I went to bed and forgot to post here.
