Targus amu81usz not working on desktop

I have this Targus mouse model AMU81USZ sitting around and i'm looking to use it as as replacement of this old optical mouse I bought at a dollar store. However when I plugged it into my desktop computer, it said it recognized it, nothing seemed to have gone wrong but the cursor will not move at all no matter what. I tried it on my laptop computer and it worked just fine with no problems.

I don't understand why this is happening, perhaps someone could help me?

Hi

What Windows version and Service Pack are you using on that PC and is it different to the PC that the mouse works on?

I would look in Device Manager and see if you have any yellow ! marks by any device and if the mouse is listed in the Mouse and Pointing Devices section.

My desktop is running Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1

unsure of what my laptop is running, it's Windows 7 but I don't know what service pack.

Hi

If you click HERE on that laptop it should tell you, likely its RTM or SP1

Do you have any yellow ! marks in device manager on that desktop and if so what does it say?
