Task Manager closes immediately after opening.

    I have Windows XP Professional SP2 installed. Today my Task Manager suddenly started acting strangely. After starting it closes immediately within a second. It just doesn't stay open. Everything else seems to work fine. I scanned my Windows drive with Avast! and found a virus which i moved to chest. But the task manager still won't stay open. What should I do?
