    my computer is showing almost 100% memory usage with one program listed twice, one is using almost 100% the other 00 or 154,892 to 4,372 it is aolsoftware.exe... and i'm sure it's causing slow boot ups and a lag.should i end one or set a priority, i'm hopeing someone can help me,, i'm using xp with 2gig mem

    Firstly please check and confirm the location of this file is c:\program files\common files\AOL\ If it is not, then you have a malware issue. Perhaps run a search for the file since you appear to have two versions running at the same time.

    Going on the way you worded your post, I assume you don't connect via AOL to the internet?

    Nevertheless, this does not need to be running at startup. To disable it from running at boot up, us a start up manager like StartupCPL to disable it. This should speed up your boot up time.
