Taskbar icons

This is a really dumb question, and I know that I know the answer, but I'm suffering with brain-fog. Can someone please tell me how to remove icons from the task-bar in W2000Pro?
We must have a dozen of them and at least 10 are not things we use regularly. Thanks, Robin

 

I am assuming that you are talking about the program icons that on are the left next to the start button such as the IE and OE icons. These are just shortcuts to the items so have no fear about removing them, just make sure there is another shortcut somewhere or you know how to access the program other than using the taskbar icon. Simply right click and select delete.

On the off chance that you are talking about the items in the system tray, located on the right next to the system clock, you will need to remove these programs altogether or disable them from starting up when windows starts. Either using options in the individual programs or something like Start up Control Panel.
