Tasks And Startups Etc View/manage/troubleshoot Programs Like 'the Ultimate Troubleshooter'?

Hi Gang,
I held on to dear old xp for almost 12 years but am now running Win7-64 on a fairly-cheap Fujitsu laptop ca.2011. Things are getting a little shaky and it's time for some overdue maintenance:

I used to use 'The Ultimate Troubleshooter' which gave detailed descriptions, explanations, and recommendations for my processes, services, and startups etc, and could be used to 'manage' them as well, and I LOVED it: but dood stopped updating about 2011 and has yet to regain credibility.

What are some similar programs YOU would recommend for a reasonably-competent user like me, someone who doesn't aspire to true geekdom but isn't afraid to poke around under the hood?
