Im getting a new tattoo on thursday and i cant wait ive designed it mostly myself with help from the guy doing it i'll post my photo of my tat soon but in the mean time if you've got a tat post a pic of it (thats if you want too.)
and exsplain why you got it/them and when

ive already got a carebear on my back and im getting a different tat on my lower back so at least i can hide it if i want when im old and grey but i doubt i will want to hide it seems as it has something special to do with my mum who has cancer and hasnt got long so it will be something i treasure for life, i think tattoos need to have a meaning so that there not just something that was in fad many years ago

I got three of them Brooke (not on my butt). And, of course every tattoo usually has a great story behind it.

Be careful, tattoo's are kind of addictive. Don't go overboard with them.

yeah once i got my first tat that was it i wanted another but i convinced myself not to, but now I'm getting this one and i'm hoping i can stop myself after this one because I'm a bit of a hypocrite because i don't really like tats on gals and especially not lots so i will be determined not to have anymore even if i have to be locked in the house for the next year or so...hehehe

 

gotta find a camera too! lol I have one on my phone but I don't know where the data cable is!

i've got a tatoo of my name on my hand so i'll never forget it.

 

WELL, thought we were going to see some great stuff here.
I have a dot on my hand (no gang thing!) when I was 13 my soon to be husband was trying to talk me into putting one on my face. I told him to try it somewhere else to see if it hurt first. Thank god it did or I would have had probably a tear drop below my eye ( which is jail no prison time thing). SHUDDER
I mentioned before I waited too long deciding what and where to get one. Between the steroids and my aging skin not a good idea now.
Can't wait to see yours though.

I got the alien done in 95, and have always wanted to add to it , but bills and computer parts and beer just wont let me save for more...so far. I drew that tattoo one afternoon and went to my friends that night to have him practice on me. Though a little large for a first tattoo, i still like it. Obviously I'm a bit of an Alien freak too...not to mention H.R. Giger.
The wrist tattoo is a product from BEER, and was done by myself with a home made gun made from an old Sony Sports walkman that ate tapes! Fortunately some how there was no infection, and for a drunkard job coulda been a lot worse.

 

Hehe...did you get an "L" tatooed on both cheeks?

 

I only had one tattoo in my life - and I had no choice in the matter at the time. Just an army serial No. underneath the left axilla (armpit). Supposedly so that if any of us became K.I.A., and were unrecognisable, and had no 'dog tags', we cold still be I.D.'ed. How nice of them...

Very nice tatty Burning Monkey, Brought my wife into the room to see that one...Almost as impressed as me!
Those that dislike tatoos and think their ugly are very unfortunate. Skin can be, or at times is a Canvas. Each has a part of their master, and vise versa. Tattoos go way back before people thought it was gross to eat grasshoppers or tarantulas. In fact, alot of art some how , mystyriously(mind my spelling) is from alot of cultures that did this in a way painful way. They used wide sticks and slapped a person with hundreds of needles at the same time as a sign of manhood. They carry that on today, usually the boy/man passes out with pain....I watched in on the Discovery channel
It carries on today, though not so archaic, but I am in ♥ with the tribal thing, and I say it feels damn good to have permanent art.
Looking at burning Monkeys again, imagine the timing and effort between artist and human canvas that was involved, and time and pain. sorry Absolutly nothing ugly about that...or any tattoo!

i agree, and they say getting one under the foot hurts the most but under the armpit would kill,

 

for me three hours on the chair was insane! two rows of seven needles...Thats 14, just to make it black...LOL, starts of ok, by the end you hug anything you can grasp..I suppose this is why they have big chairs,
nothing like a pinky toe twitchin when your back is getting sewed up w/ art!!
