I rebuilt my system drive but once completed I noted that my TB data drive will not report all files on all partitions. I am running XP SP3 on a Dell Precision 370 machine. Of the four partitions, two show the files, two don't. Properties shows that the partitions are populated. If I open ProTools and use it's workspace file utility I can see most of the files but Window Explorer cannot. Can this be a driver issue? Any suggestions?

Have you looked in Computer Management/Disk Management right click and Explore to see if they are listed. ??

Yes I have. Of the four partitions on the drive (each ~232G) the properties shows there is data but it doesn't display. At the DOS prompt running a DIR on the drive looks like it is empty. Window Explorer looks like it is empty. But if you do a backup you can see the files being backed up, however, you can't recall them. In Protools I can actually see the majority of them and you can load some of them but you can't see them all. Bottom line, there is data on the drive but I am at a loss on how to recover it. I also need to know if anyone thinks it could be a driver issue as I had to rebuild the system drive.

When you say you 'rebuilt the system drive' do you mean you did a clean install of the OS on ''C'' partion ??? and if that is the case was all 4 partions in place previous to install.

Thanks for your replies to this. I fixed it last night. It is almost embarrassing but apparently the virus that killed my system drive prompting the OS rebuild set the hidden and read only flags on two out of four partitions on my data drive. Go figure. I should have checked that sooner but just wasn't thinking because of the weirdness where Protoolscould actually see the files. Anyways thank-you for the time and your help.

Glad to here and thankyou for posting on how you fixed it. I was thinking on the lines of Hidden Files/Folders Tab but it appears you beat me to it ;)
