TDSSserv.sys

Hi,

First timer on the site and looking for help on removing TDSSserv.sys on a Vista machine. I have located the TDSSserv.sys file using Driver Manager in Control Panel, but I have seen advice that you should Disable it and not Uninstall it. Unfortunately the Disable option doesn't seem to be available to me.

I have also tried downloading malwarebytes, but I can't install this in either Safe mode or Normal Mode.

My machine seems to run happily in Safe Mode, but only runs for about 2-3 minutes in Normal mode before blue screening.

Any ideas welcome.

 

Thanks. I've coped it on the desktop, but even in Safe mode I can't install it.

I now have Malwarebytes Anyti-malware installed and running, but it cannt seem to fine the TDSSserv.sys file.

 

Update...success (so far !)

I downloaded Dr. Web CureIt onto another machine. Copied it over to the infected machine. Ran it and it removed the offending .sys file using its Express Scan.

I then copied over malwarebytes anti-malware. I had to rename the setup file to run it and then rename the executbale to run that. But, once I had done that, it ran sucessfully and seems to have removed all traces of the virus.

Only a day or so since I did this, but I can now run the laptop in Normal mode with no blue screening.
