I can totally beleive it. Our country is well over the top on political correctness.

We cant sing the nursery rhyme `baa baa black sheep` - considered racist
We have renamed the blackboard a chalkboard - considered racist

Theres loads of others just cant think of them on the spot!

Im not racist, but it seems to me England is adjusting itself to suit the people who come to live here nowadays, rather than the families who have been here for generations. I can understand times change and so do attitudes but there should be some sort of limit to this rubbish.

How can nursery rhymes, probably more than a hundred years old possibly offend? Come off it!

This country is like a bad joke at times!

I dont get it confused ???? People of muslim faith have been living here for decades and going to school here for decades, why the problem now?

More Political correctness doing more harm than good, everytime these PC 'troopers' get together and think something up they just point out peoples differences, stirring up hatred instead of just letting everyone be,a pupil not liking the history being taught is between the pupil, teacher and student and should be crossed when the time comes and handled descreetly IMHO

Why is it that people have a problem with history being told as it was?

This type of thing is so getting out of hand. What next. We don't teach our young about the cival war because we may offend thoes from the south? What ever happend to common sense.

I guess free speech is gonna be a thing of the past. Its sad. While I may not agree with someone, Or I may think they are wrong or full of hot air. I wll gladly give my life to defend there right to say it. I will always respect there beliefs. Call me nuts. But is this not what america's fore fathers believed as well?

If they are offended there is a exit door out of the country right next to the entrance door .

This is a tricky question for me, how far do you go accomodating religeon? My personal view is if it is done on company time, then you are off the clock, period. If it takes 15 minutes then that is part of your lunch time.

I was just reading a story about meat packers quiting because they weren't allowed to perform their prayers. News media rarely include all the information, but it sound a lot like they were wanting to be paid during this time. There have been other stories, as in Target (dept. store) checkers not wanting to handle customers pork. It's part of the job, can't do the job then you shouldn't have applied for it.

Wasn't it Winston Churchill that said those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it . . .

How can anyone learn from history if select parts are left out for fear of offending one group or another. Facts are facts - truth is truth, whether it hurts or not, or whether it's unpleasent or not.

And why would Muslims be personally offended by learning of the Holocaust? I hadn't heard the Nazi's were muslim . . . confused Guess I should read the article . . .

. . . just read the article - It says it's because Holocaust denial is part of the Muslim belief system . . . gimmie a break. It also states some educators are avoiding covering the Crusades because (quote) " . . . their balanced treatment of the topic would have challenged what was taught in some local mosques." (end-quote). . . It also mentions some schools were (quote) "strongly challenged by some Christian parents for their treatment of the Arab-Israeli conflict and the history of the state of Israel that did not accord with the teachings of their denomination" (end-quote)

Well, WAHHHHHH. This is a dangerous precedent - when schools start subverting the TRUTH because some group or other is offended by it . . . it does not bode well for the future.

I have noticed that this has been a trend around the world for at least 15 years, if not longer.
