Last night my computer was running slower than usual. Instead of scanning I opted to do it the next day and put my computer on hibernate. When I turned my computer back on it was extremely slow so I decided to restart. Then I received this message:

"Access violation at address 004136BE9 in module 'TeaTimer.exe'. 'Tea Timer' is preventing your computer from restarting."

Is this something that I should take preventative measures against? I've already done a full scan and it came up blank. I don't know if this is malware or not, I only know that it's part of Spybot S&D.

    Hi jax07001,
    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You said you did a full scan. What did you do a full scan with?

The function of Teatimer is to prevent certain changes from taking place in your computer. It may be in a loop with a piece of malware. I recommend that you go through the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST. See if these steps help. You will need to disable Teatimer before you run any of the scans. This can be done two ways.
    First:
    • Right-click the Spybot Icon in the System Tray (looks like a blue/white calendar with a padlock symbol)
    • If you have the new version, click once on Resident Protection, then Right click the Spybot icon again and make sure Resident Protection is now Unchecked. The Spybot icon in the System tray should now be now colorless.
    • If you have Version 1.4, Click on Exit Spybot S&D Resident
or Second, For Either Version :
    • Open Spybot S&D
    • Click Mode, choose Advanced Mode
    • Go To the bottom of the Vertical Panel on the Left, Click Tools
    • then, also in left panel, click Resident shows a red/white shield.
    • If your firewall raises a question, say OK
    • In the Resident protection status frame, Uncheck the box labeled Resident "Tea-Timer"(Protection of over-all system settings) active
    • OK any prompts.
    • Use File, Exit to terminate Spybot
See if you can make progress and if so, attach the requested logs with your next post. If you're unable to do something go on to the next step. If you aren't able to complete any of the instructions, please tell what happened.

    Thanks.
    abri
