    Hi Everyone

I am tryin to register and become a member (free) for Bridge Base Online (BBO) (www.bridgebase.com).

I have just joined a bridge club locally and am having lessons to learn and guys at the club go on the website to play and it will assist my learning.

However, I am having problems registering + unable to join BBO. I have downloaded the up-to-date free software required. I have had several emails to + from their help people but am not getting anywhere.

The problem is, when I get to the register page:
    http://www.bridgebase.com/client/client.php
I cannot enter any text in the boxes. The same goes for my husband's laptop, so it's not my keyboard or anything.

The advice I have got back from BBO has not been very helpful. The latest thing they said was "If you have a firewall, allow www.bridgebase.com to connect. Make sure your TCP
port number 3336 is open." I have allowed BBO to be allowed through my firewall, I have added it to the list, however am unsure how to "Make sure your TCP port number 3336 is open". Any advice re how I do that? I am still unable to type in my registration details.

Can anyone give me any advice? Or let me know if you need me to supply you with additional info.

    Any help much appreciated !!

    J x:)

    Just to add:

When I try and register through the actual software loaded it says err: 3002, pls login via the website www.bridgebase.com. I have told BBO all of this and it appears that they do not have the technical help that I require.

So hoping one of you guys out there can help :)

    Hey Guys

I have managed to register by typing out the words in a separate word doc. and cutting n pasting them into the fields. This has worked and allowed me into the website, so that's good. (But not ideal)

However, when people play bridge they often type in text boxes (like a kinda messenger) whilst in play. I am unable to type into any text box, doh!

So there is some klitch somewhere! GGggrrrrrr:-D

    Hi

In some cases website logons do have an issue with the browser you use, if for instance you use IE10 then the compatibility option is needed as some sites are not compliant yet, especially ones that use Flash or Java,

In IE look for the small icon in the address bar that looks like a torn piece of paper and click that, then refresh the page and try again.

Also make sure your Flash and Java are fully up to date as well as your browsers.

David, hi mate, hope you are well.

How do you check if your java + flash are fully up-to-date?

    I am running Safari

Copy this into the address bar of the browser you want to check
    Code:
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
it tells you what version you are running as well as listing the current version for different OSes.

    Hi Guys

To let anyone else know how this was resolved.

The game would not work in Safari but it worked in Chrome + I downloaded the latest Flash player, then it worked;)

    Cheers

    J :)
