Customer: I installed the RAM upgrade. I know now that I should have turned off the computer first, but I didn't when I installed it. Could I have fried the memory?
Tech Support Agent: That is very possible.
Customer: I should probably mention that when I installed the memory with the computer on, I smelled something burning and now the computer won't start.

This is why technical support employees drink so much when we're off the clock. To block out the throbbing pain in our brain cells.

This person evidently has TWO CD tray cup holders and complains that one keeps knocking the drink out of the other too?:-D

Im sure you get a lot of calls where the people are having trouble and you ask them if the computer and/or device is plugged in; and to no suprise they didn't...

Too bad you can't tell the really stupid ones to stick metal objecets into the PSU cable to test the power... :-D
