Ok some of my sorted past.

First off I'm an ex-convict that has married into a family of cops.

I had a shortlived but extremely exciting music career. Played drums with an opening act for Dwight Yoakum in Hot Springs, Arkansas because thier normal drummer's wife was having a baby. :D Threw this shortlived thing I was able to....
Play poker with David Allen Coe at a big biker party in Houston, Texas. Didn't last but one hand, lol I just don't have that kinda money. ;) Met alot of nice people & some well........not so much. :(

Two days before my 18th birthday I was in a headon collision. A 1979 Camaro Z-28 traveling between 90-125mph came around a long curve on our side of the road. We were slowing down for this curve ( I had seen the lights coming around the curve ) in 1977 Ford LTD going maybe 35-40mph. He was actually in the ditch on our side of the road & just as he got to us, he pulled back onto the road. We hit drivers headlight to drivers headlight. We were pushed back 18 feet & he traveled another 110 feet beyond the point at which we were stopped. So he traveled 128feet beyond point of impact.
As you can imagine, there was not much left of either car. The car I was in........if you could have sat in the drivers seat? You could reach out the window & grab the front bumper. The driver of the car I was in spent the next two months in traction & another three in a body cast. I had a cut on my forehead & was very sore for a few days. :) There were two other people in the car. The car owner's daughter & her little brother. Both of which suffered only very minor injuries.

Three months to the freakin' day later, I was in a '73 Ford pick'emup truck the rolled end-over-end one & a half times, then rolled 4-5 times ( I lost count after about 3 I think hehe ) down a long hill. There were 4 of us in the truck. The driver was uninjured but went out with the windshield. I was sitting next to the passengers door & ended up on the floorboard under the steering wheel. The guy that was sitting next to me? The same guy that had been driving the car of the previous crash. Yes he was still in a partial body cast. No one was hurt other than some cuts & scratches. We actually drove the truck home with the top smashed down on the drivers side, both doors hanging open, three flat tires & Rush 2112 blasting on the stereo ( that was an 8-track BTW ;) ). Would do this again iffin I knew I wasnt going to get hurt. :D

When I was 11, a stack of railroad crossties fell on me. Crushing my left leg, foot & ankle, which has me where I am today. Spent the next year or so in multiple casts & alot of theropy, but that's another whole meeting. ;)

Sorry that this is not in a cronologically correct order, typing as it comes to me. ;)

Been in multiple other wrecks. Both cars & motorcycles. Too many to put here.

Cut my left thumb off with a meat cleaver. They sewed it back on & I went to Six Flags in Dallas, Texas that night. Codeine & amusement park rides....WHOOHOO.

While working at a Handle Mill ( making axe handles of course ) a blank ( the board used to make the handle ) exlpoded and hit my right hand. Knocked over a wall behind me as well. :( Well to make a long story short........Purty much destroyed my fingers on that hand. They weren't sure if they could save them all, but they did. Ended up getting gangrene & in the hopital for a broken finger. The nurses ragged me over that the whole time I was there. lol Anywho...broke my right index, middle & thumb. The knuckles for all three as well and some bones in my hand & wrist. People tried real hard to screw me around on that. I went back to work in a limited capacity, but was unable to do much of anything. Ended up sueing them for medical bills. Regular nightmare that was.

Fell off a train & compacted my right knee. Spent the next two days traveling to Missouri for a family reunion. :( Not fun at all. My mom was so mad at me. I was supposed to drive. hehe Had a flat just outside of Bald Knob, Arkansas & a State Trooper stopped & fixed the flat I was desperately tryin' to do myself.

Lived on Midway Island for three years. That was alot of fun for a young boy. Many many places to explore on an island 1 mile by 1 1/2 miles. :D Was in trouble many times for being places I wasn't supposed to be. Like were during WWII where they run all the equipment into the ocean to keep the Japs from getting it. Got my butt whooped many a time for that. hehe My little brother was born there.

I have been involved in alot of things I really cain't talk about on an open forum. Let's just say that I have had a very full, though troubling life. I've not invented anything or even had a good idea that I can think of, but I have had alot of fun. :)

Well i think im boring :) I was born at a very early age . I fell out of my bedroom window when i was 18 months old and spent the next 6 mounths in hospital. I am from England but live in NY (20 years).

My Grandfather (paternal) joined the navy at 14 and was one of 7 survivors of HMS Queen mary which was sunk at the battle of Jutland.
I lost 7 realatives on HMS Hood sunk by the Bismark

My father employed Ronnie Biggs as a carpenter (the great train robbery)

And the most important thing in my life are my 3 adopted kids

I can spin a basketball on my finger, toss it in the air, and catch it on my finger, and continue spinning it. :)

My Uncle on my Mom's side was in the Nazi Army, and was a prisoner of war in France.

Once when I lived in Texas I killed a rattlesnake by pinning it in a hole with a shovel, and pulling it's head off with my fencing pliers.

My Great Grandmother was born in 1896 in Pryor Creek Indian Territory, in what later became the State of Oklahoma. My Great Grandmother died just 6 years ago at the age of 102 (and 4 months! :)) with a fairly solid mind and spirit.

I used to raise registered Dorset sheep. I started with 3 ewes, and ended up with 8 before I sold my tiny herd.

I was involved in a crane accident while craning up roofing materials to a 6 story building in downtown Chicago. No one was hurt, but the remainder of the day was spent trying to get the bent jib cut free and down from the roof. Top 5 worst days of my life. :(

When I was 6 weeks old, I nearly died from pyloric stenosis, a condition which causes blockage of the tract leading from the stomach to the small intestine. The doctor was negligent and told my mom "You're just a worried mother". My dad read Dr. Spocks famous book, and figured out what it was, and rushed me to a different doctor to get a small operation. I still have a small scar just above my belly button, and I often wonder why everyone doesn't have one!

My great-great-great (not sure how many greats) grandfather was a POW in the US civil war.

During WW2, my grandmother got stabbed in the leg during an excile from poland, via a hay cart. (sketchy details here). Which makes me 1/4 polish, I think. :)

My family immigrated from Germany in 1768, and settled in Pennsylvania. Spread out some since then.

My Maternal Grandfather, was one of the many people who built Hoover Dam, during the Great Depression.

I've parachuted from airplanes at low altitude, less than 1000 feet, not once but 78 times.

I've done peace keeping duty and then deployed to combat in the same year.

I worked on the Intermediate Nulcear Forces Treaty. The treaty that eliminated an entire class of Nuclear weapons. Russia and the Ukraine are not in full compliance and probably never will be.

I'm to be a grandfather very soon.

I prefer making IPA's, double IPA's, and Belgians (which I hope to brew soon). Also, when I can afford it, I'm going to move into all-grain brewing, instead of extracts.

OK ....as you all know, I'm a very timid person ...don't have much to say ...but:
My grandfather was a clipper ship captain on the Chesaeake Bay in the mid-late 1800's ....my father (17 yrs. older than my mother - the rascal) was the chief designer of the Baltimore sewer system (1930-40's) ....while recouperating from polio I had a summer class at the Baltimore Metro Art museum, and I believe they still have the mobile that I made. Took piano lessons at a famous institution in Baltimore whose name was just in my head and has just as quickly vanished ...dang ain't it great to be old. Played the sunday dinner crowd at a restaurant in Northern Calif. for a while ....spent over 20yrs. doing residential remodeling and repairs (same place) ...which is why I can't type or hold a pencil anymore. Married almost 20 yrs ...one 18yr old daughter (which cured us). TMI?

Let's see: I met Eddie Albert at my graduation from Starr Commonwealth's School for boys (Floyd Starr was the first guy to coin the phrase there is no such thing as a bad boy). He was so impressed with my speech he wanted to meet me after the shin dig.

Got my picture on the front page of the local fish wrap with him and everything.

When I was two legend has it that i was dancing to a song next to a big guy with a cowboy hat in a resturant, and the guy turned out to be john Wayne. He picked me up and bounced me on his knee. I of course have no recollection of this, so who knows maybe my folks were liquored up and it just LOOKED like John Wayne?

I am a Rehab Assistant for a local non-profit company here in SYracuse (Enable) where my duties are among other things being a lifeguard, and folding laundry... What fun.

Last year at this time I weighed 240 pounds. I started eating right and excercising and now i weigh 155. I run three to five miles a day, and at 38 look better than i ever have.

Never had a broken bone but recently I had a sprained shoulder from a bike accident.

Heck i dunno, that is it for now.

I guess you'll have to take my word for it I didnt keep any of the letters I was just glad they had more spectrum games :D

    Hmmm, there isn't much.

I show dogs, and through that have met the guy who played "Gopher" on Love Boat (can't remember his name off hand), and showed a dog owned by Helen Chrysler (of Chrysler Motors).

Shreveport, Louisianna is named after my great, great, great, great, great uncle, who invented the dredge used on the Mississippi River. It is still in use today, and if he had patented it, my family would be rich.

I work for our local fairgrounds as the bookkeeper. Have gotten to meet a few "name" entertainers, but not impressed. Most of them are a**holes! President Bush held a press conference here, and that was interesting simply because of all the security techniques and I got to see their sniffer dogs in action.

My ancestry is a huge mix, starting with Viking, Native American, and several Scandinavian/European mixes. I'm mostly Scotch/Irish/German, though.

My great uncle did a lot of work on the Ironsides, and used to make various knick-knacks out of the left-over teak wood from them. I have a spice rack he made, and it is beautiful! Another great uncle was one of Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders. We have a spear that he used in the battle of San Juan Hill.

Other than that, I'm just a plain jane "Iowegian".
