I just checked my temp files under:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Peter\Local Settings\Temp
and I was surprised as they occupy just over 1GB. I was wondering if someone could explain me why this folder doesn't get empty when I do it manually : Internet Options > Clear Temp Files. Also, are they of any use or can I just delete them all and save 1GB?

    Thanks

You can delete the temporary internet files and temporary files by running the disk cleanup tool and yes, free up some space. If ur deleting lots of files,, it would also be a good idea to run chkdsk and then defragment the drive to prevent the system from slowing down.

C:\Documents and Settings\Peter\Local Settings\Temp <--- Is only temp files created when running installers or creating a new document within word or other program.

The "clear temp files" under IE, is locate ----> C:\Documents and Settings\Peter\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
