Hi everyone, I just got a Fan master and it came with 4 temp sensors. There are little markers telling me where to put them but there not specific. They are CPU, HDD, PSU, and Case. It would be great if you guys could tell me the best places to put these sensors. Instead of the monitoring the PSU i would like to get a read out of the motherboard temp. Is there anywhere i can put a sensor to get an accurate temp.
    Thanks

    hi overcooked
the best place for a cpu temp sensor is right underneath it but would require a little bit of messing about
anyway heres a good guide with pictures of temp placements although its about making your own the placements etc are the same

Hmm, ive heard that if you have very small thermal diodes, you can slide them next to the cpu (not on top of it!!). You recon that would give a good reading?

    Hi
Thanks fou help. I am going to put the diode on the underside of the processor. In stead of monitoring the hdd i want to put one on my videocard. I have an Nvidia FX 5200 Ultra with standard cooling. Where would i put a diode on my video card the memory is covered by heat sinks and the gpu has a fan on it. Also i saw in the guide that he put a sensor on the heatsink on the northbridge heatsink will that give the correct temp of the board or will it be bette to put on the south bridge.
    Thanks everyone

Sorry I cant really answer your questions but hopefully someone knowlageable will come here and be able to answer both our questions. I just got my thermometer today, its got 2 LCD thermometers on it, with very very thin temperature probes and i think i want to slide one next to the CPU die but not sure whether this is a good idea. I dno,im confised

the only real place to get an accurate read of the cpu is to place it in the pins underneath as shown in the link posted earlier or maybe taping to the back of the mobo where the cpu die is
Same for that graphic card overcooked i would suggest placing it on the back of the card where the gpu is
And you definitely want to monitor the northbridge rather than the southbridge
