Temporary Internet Files

On my gateway Laptop with Win XP...................
When I go to Start/My Computer/Local Disk C/ Documents and Settings/......

the folder labeled Temporary Internet Files is M.I.A. How do I get it back so I can periodically clear these out. I think I might have accidently deleted it or something.

 

On my PC, the temporary internet file is under the administrator acct., which I never use because my user acct. also has admin. privileges. ( I can't find a temp internet file in the user acct. and I don't know if one is supposed to be there) If you open your documents and settings, click Tools >>folder options >>view and then check the show hidden files, you should be able to see it in the local settings folder

 

Been there done that..................I just think that it used to be here.........I am the administrator of the cumputer but I don't have accounts set up b/c I am the only user. It seems that all the cookies and temp stuff is going under "petes laptop" folder. but there is not a folder in here for temporary internet files, just a temp folder.

 

maybe just create one, if you really need one, and see what happens? you can clean temporary internet files w/o seeing the folder, just go to tools >>>internet options and the button is there under the general tab OR My Computer >>>Local Disk C; and click properties, then disk cleanup

 

Even if you are the only user and you have administrative rights you are not usually on the admin account. This account is accessible only through safe mode.
