Testing: Comments now allowed on downloads page

Something MANY have asked for. Currently testing Disqus on all download pages, news pages coming next. I think it adds some community to our main pages since it allows rating comments, sharing and links to similar discussions. Let us know your thoughts.

Not announced anywhere but here fyi.

That's pretty slick! I like it because it's unobtrusive - fits right in with the page. I'm assuming you have to log in to leave a comment?

If you are logged into Facebook, Yahoo, Google, etc you can comment anywhere.

That's great. I like reading input on why people do or don't like something. It seems a bit more meaningful than someone just hitting a starred rating.

Of course you have to filter out the 'it sucks' or 'its the best thing ever' ratings.

I'll see if I can check this out at home with IE 9. At work, only allowed to use IE 8.0.

I think that's a good idea and could lead to very helpful stuff.
However, it could also be an invitation for gobs of junk as well and will require more work from the forum moderators, as LauraR mentioned.

Just checked it out and found that the spell checker works, but there is no Preview button or even a Cancel button.

Good points by the above poster and Laura. But yeah, thanks Tim, this could be a very handy feature as long as we don't get too many "This sux", and the like comments. ~ Cool addition, man!:cool Works for you, so you know what folks, want and works for them so they get a better selection, maybe.

really good idea and seems to work well. I worry at times that some folk will respond and post a message negatively when they did not understand the app.

Burt I always love transparency and feedback on software so this is a great addition, just may need moderation to weed out idiots and spammers.

It broke the downloads in IE, we have to wait for new backend due soon.
