Text freezing or hanging

After selecting a command with cursor, the text does not go away, usually just on the first 1 or 2 incidences per log in. Desktop icons just started playing musical chairs. Ex. the speccy icon now opens Chrome. However the title is correct. Lots of BSODs with various reasons. They are getting fewer. Tried to use CCleaner and options on left hand side of display are not there. When I analyze no files are selected for cleaning.
Updated all drivers using DriverBoost from Advanced System Care 7 a week ago but a lot of problems were there before.
Was using Comodo Internet Security but seemed to be giving a lot of problems.
Running out of patience, please help.

With a story like that, the first thing you have to do is rule out malware infection. Do you have an antivirus/antimalware program installed on your computer? If so then do a thorough scan of all your drives. If you don't have a scanner installed, you can perform one online at:

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=149856

If you find that your computer is infected then proceed to the following page and begin the process of cleaning your system:

Tried running ESET but am unable to open advanced settings with IE or Firefox. Any other recommendations for online scanners?

I was unable to run any online scanners in normal mode. I was able to run them in safe mode. Also, I had to run Hitman Pro in safe mode. Using Hitman in normal mode I received the following BSOD.
Faulty driver currently on the kernel stack. Must replace with a working version. Code 0xC4.
Attached are the online scans that I was able to run and the scans requested from the Malware Cleaning Thread. Malware Bytes and TDSS logs to follow. I am ready to try whatever you request.:)

Download and run the following app. It will show the codes for your BSOD. Post those codes here.

You said you were able to run the online ESET scanner in safe mode. Did the scan find any malware on your system? Is that why you are posting the malware related logs?

I looked over the logs, although this is not the malware forum and I little experience with reading those particular malware logs. It appears that you were infected and that ESET antivirus removed the infections. To make sure that you are malware free you need to at least run ESET online scanner again.

Thanks. Should I start a new thread for the Malware issues?

That is a great program. Attached is the file.
Yes, I was able to run ESET in safe mode. The quick response is really nice.

Forgot the BSOD file. Is this the format you want?

Thanks for the mini-dump. It shows that you are having repeated BSOD due to a variety of causes. I don't know how long you've been having the stated problem, but acording to the mini-dump you've been regularly blue-screening since before Christmas. All we can do is go through the list one by one until we fix the problem. To learn how to fix this recurrent error 0x1000007e , please go to the following page:

Not to alarm you, because there usually isn't anything to any dangers of identity theft on a PC (USUALLY), but this is in your HitmanPro log:

The last part is the part I am looking at mostly. The thing that concerns me is that if your driver is corrupt it could contain some malware and perhaps this could have led to your problems at least partially.

Don't like seeing "Invalid" code ever like we see here. It definitely does look a little bit weird I have to say...

Should I do a deep uninstall for video driver and then reinstall from manuf. site? Have you looked at all the files for malware cleaning?

Is the ErrorEnd software worth the price?

I have no idea what you are talking about. I thought you were having problems with your system hanging and multiple BSOD. Did you go to the web page I suggested and follow the instructions?

Again, I have no idea what you are talking about. This has nothing to do with the problem you reported to start this thread.

We don't do malware cleaning in this part of the forum.
If you want the malware fighting team to look at your logs, you must make a post in the malware removal section http://forums.majorgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35
You will not be able to attach the same logs a 2nd time so you will need to point the team to this thread so they can read the logs
    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=282953
The malware fighters are trained on how to read all those logs.

ErrorEnd is a scam. Run away from considering that. There were a few threads on it here in 2011.
    Here's one of them

The link you referred me to recommends two options to fix the problem. One is to do a system restore. I don't trust any previous restore points due to the length of time for this problem. The second option is to use ErrorEnd software to fix this issue which this site prefers.

This post was a reply to Altbo. His post expressed concern about a file in the Hitman Pro log.

I apologise for not answering the second question. Yes, I did go to the page and ran the software.

I would first find the latest version of the driver from the manufacturer of your video card and download it to the PC. This is just a precaution against losing the internet when you uninstall your current driver (not likely but anything can happen with drivers). Then perform the full deep uninstall as you mentioned and hope nothing goes wrong. After this you can install the downloaded driver you have downloaded from the internet...

It's hard with drivers these days to know which are legit and so on. I use DriverMax occasionally to check, and it says 30 something of my drivers are out of date. The problem is the options that DM has often aren't signed or aren't popular or whatever, so I have chosen to stick with the old ones. The exceptions are the chipset and the graphics drivers. The graphics ones seem to begin to clash with Windows or other programs when they aren't updated, but I go to the manufacturer site to update graphics card drivers rather than use DriverMax...

oldsimp, I apologize for giving you the wrong link. Your responses following that posting now make perfect sense. Please disregard that earlier post. Will continue research based on the dump file you posted.

oldsimp, would you be so kind as to submit one last document that will help greatly in tracking down the source of your repeated BSOD. To compile this data document I need you to download a small application that automatically generates info about your hardware, software processes, Windows updates, etc.

First, download a program called Speccy from the following page:

    http://majorgeeks.com/Speccy_d6358.html

Install the program and run it. No need to configure anything.
Allow the program to analyze your system (takes less than 30 seconds). When it finishes click FILE >>Save As Text
Save the text file to your desktop (any name you wish).
Go to your desktop and open the text file with Notepad (just double click on it).
Edit out the serial numbers by clicking on Edit >> Find, and searching for the word "serial". Remove all lines that contain serial numbers.
    Save the file.
If you know how to archive files using the ZIP or RAR format then go ahead and archive the text file. If not, then don't worry about it, just leave the text file as it is.
Post another message in this thread with the aforementioned text file attached.

That will give people here something more to work with in diagnosing your problem. If you have any questions pertaining to the above process, please ask.

No problem. I await with bated breath.

Six of your last seven BSOD have been due to "Driver Verifier" detecting a problematic driver with a Symantec app on your system. Do you now, or have you in the past, had Norton Antivirus installed on your system?

A blue screen appears with the error message "STOP: 0x000000c4 DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION." Driver Verifier points to Spbbcdrv.sys as the offending driver with either Symantec AntiVirus or Symantec Endpoint Protection installed and tamper protection enabled.

    Solution
To fix the problem, disable Driver Verifier and then restart the computer.

    To disable Driver Verifier
    1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Run.
    2. In the Run box, type verifier and click OK.
    3. Click Delete existing settings and then click Finish.
    4. Click Yes.
    5. Click OK.
    6. Restart the computer.
    Technical Information
This behavior is as designed. Driver Verifier logs a violation when Symantec's Tamper Protection driver (Spbbcdrv.sys) makes an API hook into other processes and/or functions when it performs behavior blocking monitoring. This error does not indicate a problem with Symantec AntiVirus.

Don't mean to nag but can you get me that Speccy log sometime soon.

Sorry for the delay. Had to go offline for a while. Attached is the zip file. Had a very hard time running Speccy. I don't think it has all the data it is supposed to have. I have included a Belarus report that hopefully can fill in any blanks from Speccy.
I have never used a Symantec product that I am aware of. I have always steered away from their memory hungry programs.

Might help to get a look at any errors showing up in the Event Viewer:

Poke around and post anything you notice in the viewer, especially related to Panda or any other security programs you run...
