I mean I want to be able to send a text using my laptop keyboard which is way easier then texting from my Moto E. I don't want my phone number hidden, I just want an easier way to text.

I'm hoping there is some sort of freeware that I can sync from my laptop to my phone, then receive and send texts from my phone, using my laptop.

Have they invented that yet, LOL!! Denise:-D

I found THIS. Can't vouch for it as it is for Android whereas I have a Windows phone. If it works it will do what you want - and more.

    A bit of a late reply... :-o
    Do try MyPhoneExplorer.

I have been using it for a year and it does what you want plus:
You can also dial a number from your PC,
All your contacts, logs, messages, photos, videos and music will be saved to your PC, etc.
You can connect via USB cable, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
The standout feature for me is the ability to edit your contacts on your PC and then sync to your phone.
