I don't know shit about computers other than that I have a trojan and I want it gone. I have Norton Antivirus and Internet Security and was able to rid of 3 of the 4 trojans through the system scan, but it wouldn't let me delete the 4th and I'm wondering if it showed up on that log anywhere? I clicked on that bestfriends.pif thing yesterday through a link in someone's AIM profile and I think that may have messed something up even though I didn't choose to run the program. When I used the AIM fix tool, this showed up tfswctrl.exe and said it had an error deleting it and that I needed to boot in safemode or something, but I don't know how to do that. Can anyone help? I feel like a dumbass.

We ask that you please follow our procedure here. A HJT log is not the first step. Please follow the TUTORIAL listed below. When asked to post a HJT log it must not be inline but rather a .log or .txt file.

This site has alot of good tools for cleaning up your computer. It's very important that the first thing you do is the following:

First, please follow ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal.
If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

NOTE: In order to resolve the issues you are having it is very important that you at least try to perform all the steps as outlined. If you have any difficulty please post back letting us know what steps you have completed, what you found while doing the scans if anything and details about any problems you have encountered in completing the steps. The more details you can provide the better.
