just a little story for you linux users...I bought a laptop the other day and it came with wireless internet. I couldn't seem to get the wireless to work in win xp sp3 even though the laptop was sitting right next to the router...so I threw in a live dvd of linux mint...it picked up the signal right away (hooray:-D)...but wait...if it works that easy with a live dvd then if I install it that would be great...so I installed it along side windows...little did I know that mint wouldn't find my wireless card and I would be flying around the internet trying to find a way to install the drivers...what a load of horse manure you have to do this and then you can do that...pure unadultarated BS...anyways...being a total numbnut when it comes to linux I gave up and used a partitioning tool to wipe out the partition and swap file of mint and then merged that partition with my win xp partition...bad idea...when I went to restart my laptop I got a GRUB RESCUE ERROR...:( my heart did a few flip flops and a skip or two...my first thought was that I wiped out the whole hard drive...while sweating bullets :cryI again scoured the net looking for a way to fix my stupid mistake...I read some stuff on how to fix that error but nothing I did helped. Then I came here and did a search and don't you know I found the fix...all I had to do was fix the mbr with bootrec/fixmbr ...I was so happy when I restarted the laptop and there was windows loading...I have nothing against linux but it isn't for me...maybe I'm just too old or too lazy but having to enter so much data just for one single driver seemed a bit much...I'll just stick to the live dvd from now on...
