I wanted to express my appreciation to all those who have posted solutions to the various problems that have arrived here.

I was faced with a problem that Norton AV couldn't fix (although it would reliably tell me I had the problem). Various fix programs on the web I tracked down and tried that were directly tailored for the problem also couldn't make a dent.

So, I stumbled upon this forum when I Googled "Vundo". Very good and informed directions from one and another posters helping others with this helped me as well. I followed their directions and was finally successful in returning this old Inspiron back to the land of the living.
