I`ve been here about a day or two but, i would just like to say thank you to all that have helped me and well, haven`t been *$$* to me i mean with my pointless thread, i`ve been on a good few forums, and most would have gotten *^%y to me by now,i would have most likely gotten into an argument by now.
It`s really nice to be able to come onto a forum where people are polite to each other and treat each other with respect, even if some threads like my pointless thread was a waste of time and annoying to some people, and where i may sound a bit grumpy:-D and ain`t as knowledgeable as most of you on here, but hey, life`s all about learning, but unfortunately i`m a bit dusty:-D

So thank you for well, just being a nice forum, and your nice words of encouragements.
I`m thinking maybe we could make this a thank you thread?

Your posts and attitude a fine, W0lfy. The 'pointless' thread, wasn't so pointless after all, so all is cool, man. Keep on learning and growing, and you will have a good time for the most part. The not-so-good times are where we really learn.

Thanks for posting this as its a good thread and feedback, we have tended to not go the route of other forii in that we are in part not mostly kids so do not ridicule users for posting what some would think are simple questions, we take the approach of if you are new to computing you just do not know, so questions that are simple for some are not for others and the slogan if you wish we have (un-offical)

"I bad question is the one not asked"

We do come down hard in the Admon/Moderation team on other members who do ridicule members for posting simple questions and those that state "google it noob" as the noob is the one posting that reply! folks who post like that here are likely to just be banned.

The forum has worked and has strived to help all, be you a IT Pro to a Novice and we dont care what age you are from young to old-farts (I'm bordering on the old-fart area) all we care about is a good question and giving a good un-googled reply.

The main area we do have issue with at times is the useless FUD threads be they in tech areas or lounge, as they serve no purpose, so you are not likely to see a 10000+ threads on things like post your favourite jelly, sock, variety of apple etc

Most of use here that are on regular have been around the IT block a few times and have been on the net when it was a giddy speed of 9600Baud and to those that do not know its THIS.

But above all do not be frightened to post your question, but do give enough background info, and if answering a question do understand the question and be able to follow up if needed (those that cannot follow up are the googlers), but enjoy and have fun as computing is meant to be fun... I think!!!

That's quite the introduction.
This is a great place full of great people and possibly collectively the answer to almost any question in many different fields.
I think you're going to fit in fine and I look forward to conversing and debating with you in the future... both you and I know it's going to happen :-D
