Hello Insomniac, I am new here, I joined because of one of your solutions, because I had to say thanks to you.
Here is the main heading of the question
Re: My XP explorer windows "Help and Support Center" does not work

For months now my help and support center did not work, first an error came up "page cannot be displayed" I tried every solution that I found through Google, Elder Geek etc.' no did the trick.

Finally, I tried running the repair option on my Windows XP installation disk… To cut the long story short it hung at 34 minutes remaining and gave me the blue screen of death… and said press F8 on restart and go to safe mode… Ah I thought I can do a system restore from there… The computer went to safe mode and up popped a message; Windows cannot be installed in safe mode…. And around I went again and again, no way could I get past the CD trying to install windows…

I loaded a new copy on to E: drive and got in that way… I’ll format C: I told my self “No you will not said windows, that’s the boot /system drive you cannot format that.”

I’ll delete the partition I told my self, “No you will not said windows that’s the boot / system drive…”

(BTW help and support worked perfectly on the copy of windows on E: - a point to remember.)

So there I am sat with a corrupt windows on C drive and a good copy on E drive…

To cut the story shorter, I deleted everything files – partitions – and started from scratch – loading windows (I used the facility on the Install CD to re-partition the HDD, and all went well with installing a fresh copy of windows xp pro… Er well almost, Help and Support Center just came up blank when I did a search for any topic… In other words I had made my self 3 days work reloading everything and for the same result Help and Support Center not working…

And that’s what I put in to Google and came up with your solution here at Major Geeks… It did the trick first try…

And I cannot thank you enough for the help.
