So...for those who celebrate...inquring minds want to know....what's on your menu?

I started on ours..pretty traditional dinner ...bread is just about dry enough to make the stuffing so in a little while I'll start chopping the onions, celery and what not to put in it. I like to get it all mixed up and seasoned the day before so it flavors through more. Stuffing, I might add is my favorite part of the meal drowned in my home made gravy.:D We of course have our turkey and we'll have mashed potatoes (with even more gravy:D), doing up some squash and another veggie...some nice dinner rolls and some cranberries and something else..but I can't remember off the top of my head...to busy trying to calm my growling stomach..it smells wonderful in here already..lol

For desert we decided on something different than pie this year...I'm making a cheesecake that has brownie mix for the crust....just waiting on the cream cheese to soften up a bit more then I'll whip it up and toss it in the oven...oooohhh..I can't wait to eat...

Only thing really left to get is the wine we'll have with our dinner but Chris will snag that on his way home.

Oh I forgot about my Dip! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v173/star17abby/yikes.gif Chris and I are usually so stuffed we only do the one meal but we decided for a snack later I'd make my jalapeƱo dip (a meal in-itself right out of the oven..all that melted cheese...the chili....onions...black olives, etc...mmm...more yummies:D)....guess he's gonna have to get more than just wine at the store!

We are going over to our daughter and husband's home. She has the savoury side of things in hand, I have the dessert ;) So all I know is we are having a turkey and a ham, and dessert will be plenty of pumpkin pie, apple pie and my husband is putting together his infamous fruit salad :D

@ Halo...when Abby and Star have fed you...hop over to Oregon for Round 2...we are a few hours behind so you could just about make it lol

They don't have Thanksgiving here either, but I still like to be grateful for what I have.

I might go out for dinner, and have Thanksgiving and birthday meal at the same time, and convince myself I'm happy for a while.

Hmmmm let's see. We do traditional:
20 lb. Roast Turkey (separate the skin from the meat and stuff butter, onions and garlic in the pocket there. Then I stuff the cavity with onions and celery to keep it all nice and moist). Rub it all down with pepper and salt and something else a little bit secret :)
    Mashed taters and giblet gravy
Green bean casserole (you know the one, with mushroom soup and french fried onions)
    Rolls
Oyster stuffing and regular stuffing (my mom-in-laws ticket for the meal)
Pickle rolls (ham rolled around cream cheese and pickles)
Some Broccolli and Cauliflower casserole that a friend is bringing over
    Pies (pecan, pumpkin, cherry)

and I think that is about it. I may even have more than 2 beers as well, you never know!

BTW, Abbey, would love to have that cheesecake recipie. Sounds like something we would enjoy as well.

I'm honestly not really sure. My sister is doing the bulk of the cooking, and I'm bringing red cabbage and pies. :)

I think turkey, stuffing, squash, tossed salad, mashed potatoes with gravy, something with spinach, buttermilk biscuits, maybe some corn casserole.

The dinner I was invited to with friends who are chefs (which I can't attend, because I have to work at night and they're eating at 7:30 :() is ham, turkey, rabbit, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and bread warm from the oven.

    here's more...you didn't give me time to edit ;)

Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving in the United States, is historically one of the busiest retail shopping days of the year. Many consider it the "official" beginning to the holiday season. The "black" in the name comes from the standard accounting practice of using red ink to denote negative values (i.e., losses) and black ink to denote positive values (profits). Black Friday is the day when retailers traditionally get back "in the black" after operating "in the red" for the previous months, often by cutting prices considerably. In addition, most retailers will open very early.

Although Black Friday is typically the busiest shopping day of the year in terms of customer traffic, it is not typically the day with the highest sales volume. That is usually either the last Saturday before Christmas or December 25.

Because of the large amount of shopping that typically occurs on Black Friday, it has also become Buy Nothing Day.

If you`re loitering in an entrance to Wal-Mart when the doors open on Black Friday, you`ll end up looking like Beetle bailey after Sargent Snorkel pounds him. Scary sight.

We're going to my Mom and Dad's.
All the usuals, plus more as my Mom's birthday is Friday.
A very nice time to get together with family. We always play cards, etc..........
and, of course, the guys take a nap while supposedly watching football.

Don't know what all's for dinner Abby. Spending Thandsgiving with some friends, and they're doing the cooking. I'm bringing a French silk pie, but other than that, all is speculation.

Whatever it is should be good. They're good cooks. :)

    LOL

Boycott WM and the HP junkboxes. Only Staples, CompostUSA, Circuit city or Best Buy are geek hangouts for Black Friday. Many have prices online the same as the Brick and Mortars.

I am not sure if I should post the ad site, but search for "Black Friday " in Google and you can view them all online.

Also Geeks.com and Radio Shack.com have Specials online.

I bought a desk, chair and fax/scanner/color printer tonight and intend to price match them on Friday morning. They are in my livingroom in CA and I will be in VA!

Taking a lesson from you and attaching it.:) My original intention when Jack asked for it was just to scan it...the picture of the finished cake looks edible all by itself:D but, I had clipped the recipe from a newspaper flyer (really thin paper) so what is on the back showed through making the recipe unreadable...bummer...I actually had to type it out...LOL

The finished product is mighty tasty I might add...I was so full I couldn't finish mine but Chris managed to eat 2 pieces! lol
