    My daughter just emailed me from Calgary. She went to Audioslave with Seether backing up on Sunday. She had floor seats that they bought off a scalper outside. I wanted to see them. This is what she wrote;
    I went to see Audioslave and I had floor tickets. It was so good, Dad. They played "Bulls on Parade" (Rage), "Spoonman", and a Temple of the Dog song...I can't think of what it's called but it's on that CD you have. Then they finished and we yelled and then Chris Cornell came out by himself and played "Black Hole Sun" on his acoustic and it was so amazing. And then he played a Neil Young cover and then he played "I Am the Highway" and halfway through the rest of the band joined in and then they played "Killing in the Name of" (also Rage) and "Heaven's Dead" and for the last song they played "Cochise". It was way better than System of a Down.
    Lucky girl.

    I'm jealous... I was always a big Soundgarden fan, RATM as well... I'm wonder which Temple Of The Dog song it was... "Hunger Strike" is the most well known one but that was sang by Eddie Veddar originally (with Cornell doing the backup vocals)... sounds like an amazing show... Seether is good as well

    i'll try to fill everyone in at once...

    the fairly new band Audioslave is comprised of the lead singer Chris Cornell who was formerely the lead singer of a band called Soundgarden and the guitarists and drummers that were formerely in the band Rage Against The Machine (RATM).

    It's fairly amusing that here, of all places, there are quite a few Rage against the Machine fans. :p

    hey- people of all walks of life love crappy music!
    I hated to see them break up.
    oh yeah, whats the deal with all of the tribute bands named after one of their songs- as in "Killing in the name", a tribute to rage?
    maybe it is just the st.louis scene

    Everyone does that for pretty much any band, not just RATM. It's nothing new. A lot of the bands in the local area do it too.

    Hey, were not talking about crappy music here.

    sorry about the sarcasm, but if you read the next line it said that i was sorry that ratm had broken up. I love rage, audioslave, soundgarden, temple of the dog- basically all the bands mentioned on this thread.
    sorry for the confusion, apparently i need to tone down the dry sense of humor!

    No don't apologize for sarcasm. Sometimes people have to point out the obvious to me.:eek: I tend to be quick to defend the music I like. It goes back about 35 years
