i acts as though it is in stand by mode because my power light flashes as it does when in stand by but i cant get it out of stand by so i have to shut down

Do I understand you can't get it out of standby mode, but if you leave the comp sitting, it might come back out by itself for awhile? Your English is a bit run-on and chaotic. What happens if you reboot? With standby, do you mean the standby you would normally get when you push on standby, rather than restart or shutdown in the shutdown menu?

first of all sorry for my english i'm not very old. I can't get it out of stand by mode. mormally i put it into stand by mode with my wireless keybored and i can take it out with my keyboard. when this happens i cant use my keyborad to get it out and i thought possibly it was my keyboard getting disconnected so i tried my other keyboard that i have plugged in and nothing happened:(.When i hold the power but for 5 seconds and turn it back on which is all i can do because i dont have a restat button on this computer it starts up normally, no error message, nothing visably wrong. I havent waited for it sitting here but i have left games on before and gone out for hours and when i get back it is still flashing so i know it had alot of time to come back and did not. it seems to be a normal stand by, it just wont come out. i really dont know what to do

I never use standbye, so for clarification, do all the lights go out on the computer, or does the screen go dark and the power light and fans stay on? You need to be more specific as to your symptoms. What you refer to as standbye could actually be something else, such as a power supply starting to die. The old adage about assuming comes to mind.

I just read the other post in the hardware section, if I read it correctly you have overclocked your 2.4Gig Athlon 64 CPU dramatically. Overclocking ALWAYS has risks, unstable operation being the least of it. It can also dramatically shorten the life of your components.

You want a stable computer, stick within the specs. If you want to be adventerous we have a forum devoted exclusively for overclocking, but if you overclock you had better be prepared to service your computer often, either doing it yourself or using a shop.

Do you mean: "how do I Un-Overclock?" ... like ... undo the overclocking? Overclocking would have been something you or someone else did to your computer. To not overclock would be possible by undoing those changes and returning the computer to its original manufacturer specifications.
    Don't give up!
    :)
