That clears the cobwebs. My first playthrough as a Breton Mage suffered greatly from being of no use in a melee. My poor little mage did a lot of running away. This weblink explains that I did level too quickly and that overleveling caused a bit of a struggle. My character survived, but only because I was a veteren of Morrowind/Tribunal/Bloodmoon. I sensed my character was leveling too fast and so I took steps to slow the situation. Thanks for that link, Chochese. I enjoyed the read.:)

np... It's a pretty useful site. I check there whenever I have a question about something as the answer is usually there. If you are playing on pc and concerned about leveling too quickly there are mods that deal with that. There are mods for just about anything you could want. You can find them at that site as well, but here is a link to them...

One I really enjoy(and one of the most popular) is OOO, if you haven't already heard of it.

That and Cosmetic Compilation(makes character creation really fun and everybody looks cool) are the only ones I really use.

For my third run-through I did install, OSCUROS's OOO(Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul) which is a fine work indeed. It certainly transformed the game, into something a little bit scarier, but at the same time, the baddies didn't level-up indefinitely, allowing even a spell-caster to eventually overcome the Amazon Man-Hunters etc.:)

The first time I saw one of those was in a cave near Skingrad. She was by herself and I thought, "I can take this chick, hey look how cool her armo-" Bam! I was dead. Reloaded, went back in(serious this time) and she mopped the floor with me. Third times a charm. Went in sneaking, hit her with a couple arrows and she came running at me. Blocked, hit her with my best destruction spell and drank a potion. She was just wailing on me. I was tired of dying so I ran out of the cave hoping to find a guard. I found some people near the entrance to Skingrad and we all ganged up on her. She took out two people and a guard before she went down. That's just awesomely crazy...

I have been wanting to try other mods, but this one is just too much fun...

Those Amazon types can wipe out a town, if you let them follow you. I made an escape out of a cave near the Capital, ran into the water to lose them - no losing them. There were 3 and they wanted me dead. I ran down to the docks, and they murdered all the smugglers and everyone else that dared to fight them. It was early in the game, so I didn't want all that carnage to continue. I reloaded from a save game inside the cave, but this time I ran down the road. A brave Legion trooper took them to task but we couldn't kill them all. I stole his horse to get away alive. That spot piled up with corpses of troopers and horses until those Amazons were finally dipatched. Whew!!! No caves for me for a while until my little Breton mage got a bit tougher.:)

I have been looking for monsters to follow me in a town and watch everyone fighting. Are these Amazons only in a specific mod?
