I put in a request to freeze my and my wifes accounts over a week ago......they are supposed to send an email with a link to finalize it. So far.....no email. Don't count on Equifax!!

Also known as a security freeze, this tool lets you restrict access to your credit report, which in turn makes it more difficult for identity thieves to open new accounts in your name. Forget about freezing your account. This was written by a well known securiy writer yesterday

after seeing that, I figured that I'm just wasting time and money. (a credit freeze in some states in the US can cost $10 - $20; an unfreeze also costs)
