I'm 6' 6" and over 200 pounds. (or 1m96cm, 100kgs in metric). Hence the nick of "bigbazza".
Monday morning I "jaywalked" (my fault) through stopped traffic and whacked my head on a plank hanging out the back of a utility vehicle roofrack. It was hanging out a fair distance and had no warning "red flag", or whatever.
Fortunately I was wearing glasses and they took most of the impact. I sustained 3 cuts above and just to the right of my right eye. Glasses ended up on the road, frames badly bent and a couple of scratches on one lens where it hit the road.
My youngest son was with me as we were hurrying to get something done before he was to catch a ferry to the Island where he works.
Doctor said I didn't need stitches although he applied some butterfly bandaids to pull the cut together. I got a friend who owns a jewellery shop to straighten out my frames.
All is OK but the bandaids look a bit deadly. :D

Point of thie post is how tall are you?

What height would you like to be, and what are the advantages/disadvantages of your current height.

What do you think would be the advantages/disadvantages of your desired height?

I've lost count of how many times I've whacked my skull, over 60 years, on something that most people would walk under. Bazza

Have banged my head all my life. My dad was 6'5" and a "behind-the-lines" forward artillery observer in WWII in Germany. He stuck out a bit because of his strawberry red hair.

Played college basketball on a scholarship - only benefit I've ever gotten from being tall. Sure helped me get through school.

You guys are funny. I am 5 1 and 1/2. And don't you forget that half inch.

I hate being short. I can't reach anything, can't see over a crowd, etc......

    Gal

All my children are taller than I am. My husband thinks it is very funny when I try to get in the iddle of them if they are argueing.

Six feet five inches tall, and weigh 304 pounds. Don’t wish or want to any smaller, or is the shorter……eight weeks ago, found that I have diabetes and have lost ten pounds….I like looking over the crowd…….but, I had my moments, worked on a chicken ranch, picking eggs….the rancher was five feet seven inches tall, and built three of his first chicken house’s with the cross members at five feet eight inches high, hit my head, a lot back then……wobbles

6' 2" One skinny mofo. Probably about 165. I must have a really fast metabolism. I've tried my whole life to bulk up. I was lifting for a while and managed to get up to 185. I quit the gym, and within a month I went back down to like 170. That was a few years ago. I don't really care anymore. I think I'm finally comfortable with my skinniness.

As far as walking into things, the worst was an air conditioner unit sticking out of the wall of a freinds house. That friggin hurt!

6'2", 195. First of all, I hate guys taller than me (yet most good artists I know rate over 6'2".) Secondly, the ground is pretty far away, and the weakest link of evloutionary design is the spine. Recently I walked into a low pipe and had tunnel vision briefly before I hit the ground.

I am hitting 42 years old in a handfull of months and I have only a few grays on my head. no hair growing out of my ears yet.
I feel good so I will keep puttering around another year or two before I become a Greeter at Walmart.

I`m 6-4 and 200 lbs. The biggest disadvantage is finding clothing long enough...ie...sleeves on shirts...and a 34 inch waist and 36 inch inseam makes finding jeans that fit a pretty good challenge as well. One distinct advantage is being 46 and still dunking(albeit one-handed)a basketball. I`ve been this tall since I was 16, so I don`t really remember what it`s like to need a stool to reach the top shelf in the kitchen...and at work it`s handy as well as I need to make less trips up a ladder or scaffolding to complete the job, whatever it may be on the given day. I`m not a snob about it...the little people are cool, too heh heh heh. :p

    5'9" & approx 180lbs and dropping!!

Being off work for the last two years due to a couple of back surgeries, has caused me to get the heaviest I have ever been in my entire life (205 lbs) and it felt like crap!!!! Now that I'm back to work...it has been gradually dropping, and I hope soon I will get back to the 165lbs of muscle I was before!! My metabolism has always allowed me to stay built pretty decent without having to work at it!! And for 32 years old...I want to get back into shape before I start looking like Michael Douglas!!!!

Overall, though...I would say that I'm pretty happy with my height/weight...It seems to be a nice happy medium!!!!

However I own 7-8 year old tights? Wahey! No one else can wear pink heart tights because they don't fit them! :p

    I'm about 5'2" and 6 stone

A long time ago, I had a g/f at 6' 4". Me being 6' 6", her 6' 4", we used to fold into her Mini 850 (1960's era). 'Twas a funny sight. Fond memories of Marilyn McK. Wonder where she is now? Probably a granny, 3-4 times over. Bazza

Another thing I`d forgotten, perhaps due to the relatively short duration of the relationship...I dated a woman(oddly enough I met her 1800 miles from home and she was from a nearby town)that was 6-2. As we were military folk we went on to other duty stations. I, still, 25 years later, have occasional contact with her and we are close friends. I had my just-above-average 2 kids and she had seven, and is among the happiest people I know. If there`s anyone here from Auburn NY or close by perhaps you may know her. She left to do the Army thing(I`m USMC myself)and moved bck home afterwards.

I'm either 6'3" according to the old navy records, or 6'6" according to my Mom.

Anyway, I'm glad I don't have to deal with the Navy any more. No more, ducking and stepping over hatchways, no more sleeping with my legs bent, no more cleaning high places.

    Benifits of being tall:

Being able to reach across a pool table without using a bridge.......

Sheesh I never thought to mention when I did the "WESPAC" on the Kitty Hawk how uncomfortable it was as part of the Marine Detachment to get comfortable in the rack that was 6 inches too short for a normal(6-4)height man to sleep in. I also neglected to mention the callus I wore into my forehead, you see, I`d remember to duck going into the western pacific bars but forget to duck after 18 beers on the way out heh heh heh.

Have to say...I'm quite surprised as to how many of you around here are so tall!!!!

I used to which I was taller...I used to think it would help me catch the girls!! Never mind the fact that when I got around a cute girl...when I tried to talk, you would have sworn that I had a mouthfull of s**t!!!! LOL

Now that I am married, I don't really care anymore!!!!

    6ft 2" here 7' 9" with the hair spiked...
however with the constant touring, slouching in front of a computer screen... circus animals... and a very strong weakness for cherry bombs have taken valuable inches off my height...

Sadly, that's part of the disease, thinking you're heavier than what you are. :)

I'm 5'9", but I've always wanted to date a really tall girl.

8' plus would be great, as long as she was in proportion and attractive.

Actually, just dating women would be a novel experience.

And no, to any smart @rse that can't help themselves, that doesn't mean I've ever dated guys.

I'm like 5' 8", and about 130, but I like my height. Most of the people my age are this height so I guess it works out to be ok. not a big deal if your short or tall, in fact i'd rather be short or tall, you stick out more and just makes yourself more unique

A week has gone bye. Bandaids removed. Doc says it looks OK. Very little visible marks of where it happened. I'm gonna be a lot more careful of those bl**dy sub-contractors trucks, and their drivers who are too lazy to flag dangerous stuff hanging out over the back of their vehicles. Bazza

I`m the tallest in my circle of friends...my best friend being next closest at about 6 feet even. I have seen similar situations to what you`re saying though it does seem as if people of somewhat similar sizes seem to gravitate to each other . BTW I`m in western NY too, howdy neighbor.
