Hi All, I have a real strange problem on my hands, i hope someone here can help shed some light on this. Im very bad at keeping track of all i do when I try fix problems on my own, so bear with me, ill try write everything as i did, to the best of my memory.

It all started 3-4 days ago my laptop started to be very slow while i was chating on FB and on the side (confession: browsing porn website). Firefox would suddenly freeze for no reason during chats 1-5 seconds, and then i noticed same and worse freezing as i attempt go to another website (very different times, from 1 second to 2 minutes). I started with a Maleware bytes scan, Spybot search and destroy, CCleaner and i think its called ATL cleaner, and restart, This seemed to help, at least for about 1 day, then the problem returned, no idea what i could have done to make it return, And today i tried uninstalling Firefox, didnt help, i tried explorer 8, same or even worse there, i uninstalled flashplayer 11 and i dissabeled all addons , themes, everything in FF, no change. I created New profile in FF and even ran in safe mode, no change. I rebooted in safemode, still same. I ran hijackthis, and put the log to analyze on a website, and found nasties, 3 were associated with some search toolbar crap, and forth something similar, i removed, restarted windows, no change. I then downloaded Chrome, guess what? same shit there, much worse there, i couldnt get pass the first page. So i googled and find some references to java where people had similar problem as i have, so i uninstalled java. Now, for some strange reason FF is same. Chrome on the other hand, when i open it, i come to the standard log in page, if i try go from there to any other website, it just freeze and i have to force it to close, BUT i went to Chrome settings and made google my firstpage, and now when i open chrome, i get google, and from here everything seems to be ok.

So the question is, WHAT could suddenly be causing 3 browsers to act in very strange and similar way ? And why does chrome suddenly work normally while FF and IE are still the same?

    Info:
I have tried on 2 different networks, same on both.
I have acer aspire one laptop, 1gb ram, 1.66ghz intel atom n450.
Maybe worth noting also, while all these freezes occured on all these 3 browsers rest of the windows worked fine. And this is the very first time something like this has happend, ive had this laptop for 2 years.

Thank you, I will try those asap.

The reason I didnt list any firewall or antivirus program is simply because I dont have any installed. I tend to surf safe sites for the most part, and in the last 10 years i havent used any antivirus, the few 2-3 virus I got i dealt with by installing different programs for that moment and uninstaling when the issue was fixed.
