    Hmph. The trouble with working at the botanical gardens is never having time to *see* any of the botanical gardens unless it's something on the path from the trucks to the stage.

    However... This may not be exciting for anyone else, but I've only ever grown herbs before. This year I grew actual food! A few minutes ago I picked my first bell pepper and roma tomato, and I can't stop grinning. I'm giddy like a kid on Christmas! :-D

    Eldon, I'll do what I can. I don't always get to her house, but I'll try to get her to take pictures. There are actually something like 15 plants in that raised bed, but most of them were seeds labeled "winter squash mix" so it's hard to say what she'll get. LOL

    Laura, I've got half the green pepper in tonight's dinner (I ate the rest, and it was amazing!), and I think I just might slice the tomato and eat it sprinkled with a little sugar like we used to do with garden-fresh tomatoes when I was a kid.

    I'm ridiculously pleased with myself, although I know people have been growing food for thousands of years. :-D

    I have never tried tomato with sugar what a nice tip! Those look like beautiful specimens!!! Nice shot of them too, nice and colourful.
