Hi, I am having problems with my Sims 2 game, and i'm not sure why. I can play it, but after about 20 minutes of gameplay, it starts to slow down and freezes alot. Also, all the water on my game is red, and I know this can't be right. Also, at 7 am and 7 pm, the game slows down really bad as it changes from night to morning. I'm thinking maybe I need to get a new graphics card or something, but even if I do, I don't know which one to get. I'm attaching my pc information, can someone please take a look and tell me what's sup with my pc. Thanks in advance :)

i cant say that i recognize ur graphics card. it might be the reason for ur problems but increasing ur ram certainly will improve performance i say. try to go for 1gb ;)
but for a short term fix try updatin ur graphics drivers and get all the available updates for the game

um. well first u need to download ur new drivers. i think i can do that here: http://www.viaarena.com/Default.aspx?PageID=2
then u go into the control pannel and click on add/remove software and uninstall ur existing drivers. ur probably gonna have to reboot after this. then u simply install the new drivers and reboot again.. voila. that should be all, in theory

if updating ur drivers is a problem try updating the game first. u can do that by going to the official Sims website and get the newest patch or update.
    hope it helps

Im not sure that your onboard VIA video card is DX9.0 compatible. The minimum req are "Windows 2000/XP, Pentium 1.4 GHz, 256MB RAM, 64MB DirectX 9.0 compatible 3D graphics card, Windows compatible sound card, 12X CDROM, Keyboard, Mouse"

This link should link you to your video card drivers. You have a VIA KM400 Unichrome Integrated Graphics.

Select Windows XP, Integrated Graphics, KN400 & KM400 Unichrome Integrated Graphics. If that doesn't work your gonna have to buy an graphics card that supports Direct X 9 instructions.
