The Sims 2_Graphics Problem?

Hi,i was just wondering if someone can help me out with a graphics problem,rather than explain it have a look at this Screenshot

I have updated all graphics/motherbard drivers etc but with no joy ,here are my pc specs,

amd 3000+ 64-bit
Fx 6600 gt
nforce 3 gigabyte K8NS pro m/b
1.2 gb 3200 ddr ram

Any ideas will be most welcome.

 

Well that looks wierd. Does it do it in on any other games? Do you have the correct version of direct x installed? I found a little bit of info on their hompage that you might want to read and try.
They say one possible problem might be background apps, sounds wierd but guess its worth a try. They give you full instructions I think.

Im assuming you have a GF 6600GT right? (fx doesnt come in "6600" flavor). Anyways your problem can be caused by heat or bad ram. Its reccomended when you reinstall drivers that you use Driver Cleaner Pro (free app) and use it to uninstall old drivers before installing the new ones to prevent conflicts.

 

To me, it looks like artefacting, which as said before, can be caused by overheating or bad ram, or not enough power getting to the card. I've had this sort of problem before, and was fixed by having my card replaced (it was brand new, so it was under warranty).
