The Sims 3 keeps crashing

So i go onto canyourunit to see if I can and it tells me that everything is fine. When i play the game, it crashes about 5 minutes into it. Am I missing an update somewhere? Or do I need to install a newer version of a sound card? Help please.

 

First and foremost install the newest DirectX version from:
http://majorgeeks.com/DirectX_End-User_Redistributable_d2924.html

Make sure your video and sound drivers are up-to-date as well by visiting the manufacturers website.

And then, and this is a big one, check the side of the box to make sure (yes I know you checked with canyourunit) that your computer meets the minimum hardware requirements.
