The wife's got a MAJOR virus

pc doctor

hi: I just signed (finally). twice now on this pc, I have ended up downloading this pc doctor ( not by choice ) each time it has been off this site via a link (tonght) and the 1st time from here. when it downloads the sgreen starts blinking or flashing. I can,t do anything. The only way out is to shut down. so whats going on ? did I just load a virus or ?????? This is an old pc, but I just did a clean install of win 98se, dumped linux. thanks john

 

her pc is so bad that you can't do a thing online. i did get vga installed before the war began. that came up with 26 torjan horse's. those were put in the vualt, then cleared. This didn't do any good, the problem got worse. It seems to have everything talked about in this fourm.

Is there anyway I can format this system< but still leave windows word and win excel in ??????? These are what she needs to keep. If not for that I would just wipe out and reinstall windows 98se.

I've tried finding a work around to get online, download something to get rid of atleast part of the problem, but no deal. when I do try things like changing urls ect things just freeze up.

These guys that write this stuff are good. I wonder how much they get payed

 

My post are not going in the right thread ??? I don,t think my pc can copy on a cd, but I know. when the options come I've put drive d in, but in won't run it. I've only been at this computer deal for one month ( home schooled ). I did have a qual com system in my big trk and a webtv at home. my wife is from the days when there was only dos

we're dial up. I just tried to download hjt. when I clicked the link it did the download ( I guess) then again my screen started flashing, my only way out was to shut down and restart. I must the the ol virus now also.I'll go check to see if I have the HJT file

 

if thats what the screen lock up is about. It sure is strating to look that way. when I go to your link for HJT there's an add on the upper right, center page is the "links" for the download. I clicked on the top one from the guy in tx. It appears to load, then I get the flashies. I can close some windows, but not the desk top or do a normal shut down. I have power off to get out. well thx It's late past bed time. I give up for today. again
