My daughter got a bunch of malware from p2p downloads while away at college. I am killing it all (she is next) but I found this file in her
    c: mydownloadedfiles folder...
    theoffice_free.rgs

A search of this forum and google search comes up empty.
It is 32,962kb and was created a few days ago.

    Just delete it? Or?

    thanks,
    Justin

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

It may be an illegal file to attempt free registration of MS Office products. I would delete it it.

Are you running the READ & RUN ME sticky procedure for cleaning malware? If not, you probably should since most people using p2p and torrents manage to get themselves a fair amount of infections and some are not so obvious.

I am going through the malware sticky. I found it when I was looking for odd folders as I was uninstalling obsolete and downloaded stuff.
I deleted the folder. I quess I should have waited to see if the scans killed it before I asked for help.

    thanks,
    Justin

No problem. If you have problems after running the READ & RUN ME, make sure you attach all the requested logs and describe your problems.
