True - but now the words Illegals and Terrorists are being coupled together, just a pet peeve of mine.

 

The part about the 60'sand prozac is alarming but true.

 

Actually, that is aimed more at those who enter the country via other than legal means. Coming from soneone who has spent 16 yrs in healthcare, it is a problem, people without any type of insurance or legal stadning in the coutry are part of the reason health care costs have skyrocketed. Along with the overly litigous society we ahve become.

but the whole post was meant more for a profound chuckle than anything else.

Had a heck of a time getting back to this thread. I have some words to eat, don't mean to rain on your joke so to speak but---- I have through the years lived in areas where the Mexican population outnumbered the rest ( I refuse to use the word white) anyway I heard some real heartbreaking stories, some I have repeated on here before while inappropriately on someones case. Any way yesterday on TV, Dan Rather, he gave a report and backed it up with think a sheriff from New Mexico who is sure middle Easterners are already coming across the Mexican boarder disguised as illegal Mexican workers. He said they look like him (dark hair and skin) will talk like him and none will be the wiser. They have already found coins from the mid-east on the ground, which could be plants, I don't know.
I just have to chase the memory of a little Mexican girl at my house many years ago who was asking, "why do people hate us, we never hurt anyone" Crap that still makes me cry. No child should ever feel that.
Anyway, thats where I was coming from.

 

Is all good Darlene. Did not take offense to you. I understand the humn part of that arguement, but I have also spent a lot of years in health care and when smoeone walks in, refusing to learn to speak the language and expecting to live on my tax dollar, that is where I take offense. I mean, I take the time to at elast learn enough of the lcoal language to get by when I am visiting somewhere, and that's jsut visiting. I don't hate anyone, especially in a general sense, and merely hope to see a more suitable way of controlling the influx. After all, we are the ones paying to support these people, why can't we have a say in it? (I know, many of them do work hard to make it in the US, but the majority unfortuantely don't).
