So it's like this. A few weeks ago, we decided in IT that we would perform a major upgrade to the firm's auditing software. Real simple, just push an MSI file through group policy and that's it. User just has to shutdown, restart, installs automatically, and boom! Done!

Then the software company came out with a patch. ffs

So now, originaly MSI is pushed, but then they have to reinstall some other piece of software, and then the patch. I've learned through many years of experience that the more user interaction you have in upgrade processes, the greater likelihood of a major screw up.

On top of this, I have 7 new employees starting today, whom all need their new laptops. While they are all configured and ready for use, still just a lot of crap.

And finally, the coup de gras, one of the partners, whose name appears on the sign, I have to do a ton of upgrades to his computer since he's out of the office.

    Pray....

It may, indeed, be a tough day for you---just do it---quit complaining---be grateful you still have work to do

Group Policy never fails to disappoint that's for sure.

Server side went like a dream. Workstation update was horrible horrible, horrible.

I finally had to create two zenworks objects and push that out and it worked fine.

Moral of the story: Zenworks rules.

motc7---I ask your forgiveness for my short and rude comment above---I am angry over what I see happening in my workplace and people flying out the doors and took my frustration out on you---sorry I was a butt
