Thomson speedtouch 330 driver woes please shed eome light !

Hello all new to this forum am desperatly in need of some help / advice been using dial up for the last year as b-band not able to run on my line until 3 weeks ago when line was upgraded ! Yey i thought b-band here i come phoned wannadoo 3 weeks later my modem arrived Great followed install instructions by the letter came to end of install plugged in usb lead and all i get is a flashing red light for the U.S.B connection and a yellow exclamation mark in the device manager next to the modem looked in the modem properties and says driver is corupted Error code 39.ok i thought uninstall it and start again downloaded the latest drivers from the thomson site still no fix ! Getting a bit cross by now uninstalled again turned off firewall turned off spybot S+D turned off history kill and tried again that`s as far as i have got been in touch with wannadoo no help and e-mailed thomson no reply can anyone shed any light on this ??

Computer info.win xp pro ver 5.1.2600 serv pk 1,Jetway mainboard,awrdacpi
x-86 based,processor x-86 family 6 mod 4 stepping 2 971 mhz overclocked was 900 mhz orig but still very stable.
Bios ver-date 6 pg 10/05/02,smbios ver 2.3 512 meg ram
Soundblaster live, 64 meg graphics card nvidia geforce 2 mx400 think that`s all thanks folks

 

Hey, I've got a Thompson Speedtouch DSL and downloaded my drivers from http://www.speedtouch.com/supuser.htm which I presume is where you downloaded from? Hopefully you downloaded the Win version?

Anyway, I didn't have any problems but I was given a CD to install an older driver and other software, which included a diagnostic tool. Try installing and running that tool to see if provides further information.

 

Yep i also got the install cd with all the software and followed instructions to the letter have run the diagnostics and have got green ticks in all the boxes.Could just be a broken modem or a problem with my puter ? Have also had a problem getting nokia pc suite to run and now can`t get the remaining parts from (my computer) even after removing it from the registry ? Can`t install the software again as this won`t run as it`s saying software is already installed not even nokia can help with this one ? When i had N.T.L B-BAND i had the same prob with usb until i got a network card then everthing was fine can`t use network card with this modem though unless there is some sort of adapter that turns usb into network ?
