    HI - I was infected with Antimalware Doctor and stupidly removed it with something like Stopzilla or Smitfraud, not sure which it was but it appeared to have removed it and all traces of it, however, after reboot I was unable to use the keyboard, it locks when windows starts to set up. I've tried following directions from some other posts about Antimalware Doctor but the scans don't appear to be finding anything significant now and I don't know what to do. I'm a novice when it comes to pcs. Tried to remove old Java updates as stated in your READ ME FIRST document but I can't uninstall in safemode so can't update Java. Also, I tried system restore but it didn't resolve the problem and now I can't use sytem restore at all as it doesn't let me click back to the previous month. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME.

    Please Disable Spybot's TeaTimer --> Should have been done as per the R&R instructions!

    * Run Spybot and click Mode
    * Select Advanced Mode.
    * Then click Tools and select Resident.
    * Now in the right window pane, uncheck TeaTimer.
    * Also while this is open, in the left column now select IE Tweaks
    * and then in the right pane make sure all the Miscellaneous locks are unchecked.
    * Now quit Spybot!

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    Folder::
    c:\documents and settings\Riaz Somir\Application Data\Picuv
    c:\documents and settings\Riaz Somir\Application Data\Oqmo
    c:\documents and settings\Riaz Somir\Application Data\Ulwu

    Registry::
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{2A0F3D1B-0909-4FF4-B272-609CCE6054E7}]

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{53707962-6F74-2D53-2644-206D7942484F}]

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB}]

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{D73F49B1-B51B-4d32-A3B7-BD04B8342F53}]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\controlset001\services\tcpip\parameters]
    "NameServer"=""

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES.
    * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif
    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\ComboFix.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    Hi Tim

    Sorry about TeaTimer, I'm quite sure I unchecked it first time round so not sure why it was still on.

    ComboFix log and MGlogs.zip attached as requested

    Thank you

    Looks like we are about done. Just a couple of items left.

    Now copy just the bold text below to notepad (Do not include any space above the word REGEDIT). Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
    to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    Now use add/remove programs to uninstall:
    Java(TM) 6 Update 17
    Java(TM) 6 Update 2
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1

    Reboot and download and install:
    Java Runtime 6

    Now tell me what issues you may still have, if any.

    Hi Tim

    Everything seems to be running OK. Not had any suspicious pop ups

    After clicking on fixME.reg I got this error message:

    Registry Editor
    Cannot import c:\Documents and settings\Riaz Somir\Desktop\FixME.reg: The specified file is not a registry script. You can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor.

    Thanks

    Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" --> did you save it that way to your desktop?

    Hi Tim

    Yes, I saved the file as instructed: renamed as FixME.reg and saved as 'all files' to my desktop

    Not sure what went wrong

    Then let's do it the hard way.

    Code:
    KILLALL::

    Registry::
    [B][-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\vtUopPfF]

    [/B]* Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe

    Hi Tim

    Everything seems to be back to normal except now after shutting down, the pc doesn't turn on when i press the power button - instead the power button light flashes amber when pressed. If i turn off the electricity socket on the wall and then on again the pc turns on when the power button is pressed.
    Is there a fix for this?

    Thanks

    Have you tried a different wall socket? As Kes stated, a question for a different forum. ;)
