Threads marked as read

I logged on to the Lounge. I read one thread, having not read any since Friday. It then marked EVERY thread as read.

Often I check the lounge, move to the next forum, for example Interesting Websites, and everything there has already been marked as read too, yet I can see postings that weren't there previously.

Anyone else having "read postings" issues?

Footnote: just checked other forums...hardware, software...all but a couple of postings come up as read. I'm sure many more were posted over the weekend than this!

 

Think it's when you haven't been on for a while or something.

happens to me all the time, just thought it happened with opera and/or my computer.......wobbles

...I just look to the right, and see when the post happened

 

Happens to me everyday...just more noticeable when I haven't been on a couple of days

@Wobbles......far too many posts over the weekend to check them all out by time and date. I just haven't read any posts made the last 2 days, so if anyone said anything to me directly, say it again

 

That's odd. I often go days without being here, and threads are never showing as read when I come, no matter if I read a couple of not.

It happens all the time on another board that uses different software, but never here.

 

Try deleting your temp internet files and cookies and sign in again.

 

I do that on a bi-weekly basis as it is.....makes no diff.

 

What browser is it?

 

happens to me all the time on ff. never used it in IE So i dunno if it is a browser problem.

 

My browser of choice is Firefox at home, but at work we have had to use IE (until recently!). Browser makes no diff...it still does it.

 

What happens if you aren't signed in, does it show them as read?

It is a quirk of the Bulletin Board software. I have seen it on other forums. Insomniac was right, but I don't like to tell him for he gets such a big heard.

Clean the cookie, clean the cache and restart your browser...

 

Did all that...no diff

I didn't know Insomniac kept cattle...... and yes, I know it's spelled herd

 

Its happened to me a few times. But, I shrug it off, and click on threads that don't look quite familiar. Of course, I haven't been by here in more than a few days.
