Threat Possibility?

So I was having issues with my printer originally, and I was looking for a way to fix it. The solution I ended up attempting has me concerned about the security of my laptop now. I tried to look up a phone number that I could call for HP Photosmart printers, and I found one listed on google. So I called it, and the guy had a very strong Indian accent. His greeting was simply "hello, yes?" Which was an immediate red flag. Why didn't he state who he worked for when he answered? I SHOULD have asked which company he was with right off the bat to see what he said, but I have social issues where I freeze up if I'm nervous... So yeah, I stupidly didn't do that. I figured well, let's see what he says.

The next red flag was that he had me use this program called LogMeIn (on a website that was something like support.me), which I refused to install until I'd done a google check to see if it was safe (which irritated him). From what I was able to look up, the program itself isn't unsafe, but whoever is remotely accessing your computer is what you might want to worry about. So I let him access it, but I watched what he was doing very carefully. He went into the Administrative Event Viewer and started talking about how I clearly had viruses because I had so many errors. He was going to have a technician clear the logs, install drivers and fix the printer, etc, but I was really uncomfortable with that. I asked if he could tell me what to do and I'd do it myself, and he started being very rude about it. So I hung up and unplugged my internet.

I went online and found a way to fully remove LogMeIn, I cleared my temp files, internet history, did a computer search for "logmein," deleted everything I found, etc (LogMeIn had been auto-loading with my computer but it's not anymore, after doing that). Honestly I still don't know if he was legit or not, he might have been, he might not have been, but it just didn't feel right and I figured I'd rather not take the chance. I never gave him my name, any information about myself, all he really did was go into Administrative Tools and the Event Viewer.

So my question is, based on what occurred, should I be concerned for my laptop's security now? Could he have possibly done something to my computer or found my information simply by what he did? Or am I okay?

You are fine. You did right. They would have wanted to charge you and install bogus software. Now that you know, post in the software forum for help with your printer.
