i have a problem with the booting up of my machine. its a relatively new computer, emachines t2605, but i've also added my own graphics card (asus xseries v9400 nvidia geforce mx4000) in the agp slot, and completely filled up the pci slots with a sound card (audio excel av512 6 channel 5.1), avermedia dvd ezmaker pro analog to digital video capture card and a firewire card. also i've added another 80gig hard drive, pretty much identical to the master. i also have a bunch of usb cables/capture card cables always plugged in because i'm lazy, which is what i'm thinking might be the problem. i'll boot up my machine, everything will go fine, i'll log into winxp sp2 fine, then it'll get in, start running the registry processes (like starting up netzero in the systray, also msn, sound properties, etc). now it seems like whenever the msn icon appears when booting up, my machine will restart 2 times, until on the third time it runs normally (ie after the msn icon appears it logs in instead of restarting the comp, and all is well after that). hence my roommate coined it the threeboot, because it seems each time the computer restarts twice and works on the third time. its a weird problem, and its being going on for a few months now with no ill effects really other than the annoyance. my machine is virus free, and is maintained well. anyone got some help?

does it boot fine if you go into safe mode on the first power up? (press F8 after the post and b4 the windows logo load screen)

 

Havent you tried to disable msn from starting up,if your sure msn is the cause?
