Thumbnails Not Working

My photo files in thumbnail will no longer show as a small photo, but only show as a microsoft photo graphic. Tried uninstalling Office, then reinstalling to no success, and even tried uninstalling my Adobe Photoshop Album 3.0 to no success. In fact cannot reload Adobe because I no longer have the key for it, so that sucks. Cannot get a new one as it is not supported, so I am stuck on that as well. A answer to that problem would also be helpful.

I have looked at the http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;243401&Product=win2000 bit, but cannot find the starting file of HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpg. So cannot begin to try this out. What am I doing wrong, as I only see a .jepg and a .jpe in the first section, and further down I find a .jpegfile So which one is right?

I have Win 2000 SP4 as my OS. Yes I know its old, but all I can afford right now. Can anyone help?

Tried the Irfan View and no changes. Thanks for that. It was a good try.

So on my machine I only see a .jepg and a .jpe in the first section, and further down I find a .jpegfile So which one is right? Each one has the + and a yellow file folder in front of it, so which one do I start entering the code that Microsoft says will fix this issue? Not a big fan of playing in the Reg so I need some guidance if you can offer.

Thank you ever so much Ploder. This all all worked like a charm. Very nervous doing anything in the Reg with regards to adding code by hand. All appears to be working just fine in that department now. Could not have done it without your kind assistance.

Sorry to be a pest further. For a some time my thumbnails were all working, now jpeg files will not show as thumbnails, but the jpg ones still work just fine, thanks to Plodr's fix. So, do I use the same info as supplied by Microsoft to enter into the reg as I did for the jpg fix earlier?

 

IF Plodr is out there, I have this same issue again, but with jpeg thumbnails this time. I am hoping that you catch this posting, and I ask that you please answer my question above. You nailed my problem last time around, and I am hoping for a repeat! I posted about two weeks ago and had no reply from anyone, so am trying once more in hope. Hope that is acceptable after waiting for a reasonable period, as I do not want to be jumping the line. I know the rules around doing such things.
