Thumbs.db Confirm Stream Loss Error Warning

Hey MajorGeeks,
Please advise me on how I may successfully copy and/or transfer HTML files (along with their associated image folders) from one hard drive to another.

Everytime I have tried to do this, I get a "Confirm Stream Loss" warning. The warning repeatedly appears after transfering about ten files and reads in part, "The file 'Thumbs.db' has extra information attached to it that might be lost if you continue copying."

I tried disabling the viewing of hidden files and folders in another attempt to get around this, but the same error message appeared.

I am including a screenshot of the error message. I really appreciate any assistance you can provide with this issue.

 

well, aside from the annoying popup box, is everything else working okay. are your html pages successfully being transferred?

 

No. This "pop-up box" appears at least once every ten seconds and it stops the copying/transfer process each time to ask the question. The pages are not being successfully copied or transfered either, because when I try to open the copies, there are missing graphics within the page.

From this link it looks like you have to disable thumbnail creation and then manually delete the thumbs.db files in the folders you want to copy. After copying re-allow thumbnail creation. When you access the folders on your second drive the thumbs.db will be recreated.

Make a copy of one set of web page folders and try it. If it works you can safely remove the thumbs.db from the other web folders w/o first making a backup.
